Co-Editor in Chief: Erika Peterson

 

Erika is a fourth-year student majoring in International Relations and Philosophy. Her main academic interests are political theory and philosophy, especially relating to Marxism and revolutions in Latin America. Outside of school, she enjoys cross country skiing, trail running, cycling, and all things outdoors.

 

Co-Editor in Chief: Zoé Stojanović 

 

Zoé is a fourth-year student in the Sciences Po-UBC dual degree majoring in International Relations and minoring in Journalism and Social Change. Her research interests encompass studies of migration, gender, human rights, and the Asian and Latin American regions. Her passion for global affairs stems from her upbringing across France, Sweden and Singapore, and she recently completed a thesis on conjugal violence against migrant women in the French context. Outside of academia her hobbies include theatre, music, and language learning.

  • Arsh Gill

    Arsh is a fourth-year student majoring in International Relations with a minor in Journalism and Social Change. Her research focuses on the global expansion of algorithmic technologies over the past decade, critically assessing their influence on contemporary psychosocial trends across and beyond her generation. Through this work, she seeks to uncover regulatory gaps and advance prudent governance frameworks to counteract elements of socio-political decline. Her research passions stem from a personal fascination with cultural histories, pedagogy, and wellness. Outside of research, she nurtures her spiritual practice through fitness, meditation, and continuous interdisciplinary learning. 

  • Khushi Nathowalia

    Khushi is in her final year at UBC, majoring in International Relations. Her academic interests include global health, gender equality, international nutrition, and international development, with a focus on the Global South. Outside of school, she enjoys yoga, cooking, and reading anything that she can get her hands on.

  • Annabelle Katz

    Annabelle is a third-year student majoring in International Relations with a minor in Human Geography.  Her main academic interests include international development and international law, specifically as they pertain to sustainability and climate policy.  She is also interested in the implications of current geopolitical trends towards isolation and changing global governance. Outside of academia, she loves getting outside to ski or hike, cooking, and spending time with her cat.

  • Carly Peters

    Carly is a third year student in the honours political science with international relations program. Prior to university she volunteered full-time with Youth with a Mission, living in England, Italy, and Australia. This experience further developed her personal and academic passions for cross-cultural relations, human rights advocacy, and mediation. Additional academic interests include history, particularly women’s and twentieth century, and her current research focuses on international strategies for the mitigation of women’s rights violations in Afghanistan. Beyond school, she loves hiking, working out, games with friends, and any excuse to be outdoors. 

  • Dhriya Popat

    Dhriya is a fourth-year student at the University of British Columbia, double majoring in International Relations and Psychology. She currently serves as the Co-President of the International Relations Students Association (IRSA). Her academic interests focus on colonial developments and decolonization, particularly from the perspective of women’s experiences and agency. Beyond academics, she enjoys traveling, exploring new places, and discovering diverse cultures.

  • Hidayah Mohammed-Nur

    Hidayah is a fourth-year International Relations student minoring in Law and Society. Her research interests revolve around war crimes and political impunity, state censorship and the incarceration of political activists, decolonization, and the concept of selective justice in international law. Her favourite ways to decompress are by hitting the gym (upper body > lower body, always), napping indefinitely, and indulging in Japanese yams.

  • Humshinee Kalaiselvan

    Humshinee is a third-year student majoring in International Relations and minoring in Journalism and Social Change. After two years in Le Havre, as a part of the UBC-Sciences Po Dual Degree, her research interests include war crimes, migration studies, and cross-cultural relations. Outside of academics, she enjoys dance and watching sports.

  • Karam Sikand

    Karam is a final year international relations major and history minor. His interests lie in peace and conflict studies, and democracy studies, specifically in the South Asia and MENA regions. Outside of academics he enjoys reading, photography and film.

  • Krisha Parekh

    Krisha Parekh is a fourth-year International Relations major with a minor in Economics. Her passion lies at the intersection of global development and international economics. Outside of academics, Krisha enjoys exploring new restaurants, solving puzzles and streaming films and sitcoms.

  • Lou Vabois

    Lou is a 4th-year student in the Sciences Po-UBC dual degree program, majoring in International Relations. Her research interests include migration, cultural diplomacy, and Sino-European and Sino-North American relations. Passionate about languages, Lou is currently learning Italian, German, Mandarin, and American Sign Language. In addition to her academic pursuits, she enjoys dancing and singing.

  • Margaret Rigden-Briscall

    Margaret is a fourth year student majoring in International Relations and minoring in Gender, Race, and Social Justice. Her research interests include migration studies, gender equality and feminism, and decolonial theory particularly examining these issues through an intersectional lens. Outside of academia she enjoys reading, cooking, listening to musical theatre, and drinking lots of tea. 

  • Morgan Hutchison

    Morgan is completing her fourth year in the UBC–Sciences Po Dual Degree, majoring in International Relations. She’s interested in how international law and human rights intersect with questions of gender and global politics. Drawing on her community work with refugee and women’s organizations, she’s particularly engaged in exploring how legal systems can better protect women affected by conflict, displacement, and inequality. Outside of academics, she enjoys running, skiing, and photography.

  • Nora Bennouna

    Nora is in her last year at UBC, majoring in International Relations. Her academic interests include poor economics and international development, stemming from an interest in different cultures and cross-cultural exchanges. Outside of school, she enjoys art and reading. 

  • Shinjon Sana

    Shinjon is a third-year student majoring in Honours Political Science and International Relations. His major academic interests lie in geopolitics, international law and international security. Outside of academics, he enjoys playing sports like basketball and volleyball or reading and watching anything remotely interesting.

  • Simrit Randhawa

    Simrit Randhawa is a third-year International Relations major with a minor in Law and Society. She’s drawn to big questions about power, justice, and how global systems imagine freedom. Her interests range from democratic political theory to decolonial thought. When she’s not studying, Simrit enjoys discovering new cafés, watching 2000s rom-coms, and listening to music.
